When I created these paintings my main goal was to transform two older pieces into shield like paintings that popped from a center. The process of making them made me feel like the earth must feel when a volcano erupts and the hot lava transforms everything in its path. This bowl is one of my favorites—almost like a small altar to earth.

When I created it, I was guided by the feminine, life-giving force of nature: that quiet power that waits, opens, and blooms—fully—only when it’s met with the blessing of water. The greens rising through the gray feel like nourishment made visible, like rivers moving through stone. To me, these hues hold peace in motion—gentle, flowing, and endlessly alive.
